Professional support

Psychoanalysts, like all other representatives of professions aimed at helping others, are prone to stress, burnout and emotional exhaustion. Therefore, professional support is of primary importance for:

– Mental health wellbeing;

– Work performance enhancement;

– Upholding professional ethical standards;

– Maintaining a balance between work and personal life;

– Fostering personal development;

KIPTA provides comprehensive professional support for all members, including both group and individual supervision options.

INTERVISIONS

Why do you need it?
Working with analysands can be difficult and exhausting. Group intervision provides a valuable space for psychoanalysts to refine their clinical skills, gain constructive feedback from colleagues, and build a supportive professional network.

Principles:
Intervisions at KIPTA are based on the principle of equality, respect and confidentiality.

Structure:
The intervision group consists of 5-7 psychoanalysts who meet regularly two Tuesdays per month at 19:00 (Kyiv time).
Each meeting is dedicated to a specific topic, work with a specific type of patient, exploring a specific psychoanalytic concept, or solving an ethical dilemma.

The group provides a platform for exchange, with members presenting practical cases from their practice and sharing their expertise.

SUPERVISIONS

Why do you need it?
Supervision is a dynamic process that adapts to the needs and goals of the supervisee, and is also mandatory in psychoanalytic work. Supervision provides a safe space to explore personal emotions that can influence work with analysands, fostering greater self-awareness and ultimately leading to more objective and unbiased analysis.

Principles:
Supervision at KIPTA is based on confidentiality, neutrality, respect, focus on the process of analysis (not on the personality of the psychoanalyst), self-exploration, and patient’s safety.

Structure:

During supervision, the supervisor presents the material. The supervisor listens, asks questions and provides feedback on the supervisee’s work.

Together, they explore the dynamics of analysis, identify potential problem areas, and develop strategies to improve the supervisor’s work.
